Reverse engineering is a process of product redesign, that is reverse analysis and research of a target product, so as to deduce and obtain design elements such as process flow, organizational structure, functional characteristics, and technical specifications of the product to produce similar products.

 

Reverse engineering is used for hardware analysis in the commercial and military fields. The main purpose is to analyze the design principle of the product directly from the finished product without easily obtaining the necessary production information.

Due to the continuous improvement of modern manufacturing processes and product design levels, complexity and precision of products make reverse mapping more and more difficult, especially for some parts with complex structures and many curved surfaces, which must be manually mapped and reversed. It is almost impossible to produce a complete product.
