SCANOLOGY welcomed industry experts, technology partners and global business partners to its new headquarters in Hangzhou, China, on September 4th for its 2026 Global New Product Event. The three-day event brought new product presentations, application discussions and hands-on training together around a shared priority: making 3D measurement easier to deploy and more useful in real working environments.

As the first global event held at the new headquarters, the summit gave partners an opportunity to explore SCANOLOGY’s latest developments and speak directly with its technical teams. For customers worldwide, the focus was on practical needs, from taking measurement equipment between sites to inspecting large components and accessing knowledgeable local support.

01 More Flexibility for On Site Measurement

Two new systems took center stage: TrackScan GO and TrackScan Sharp-Z. Presented by SCANOLOGY Chairman Jeff Wang, they address different challenges faced by teams bringing 3D scanning into industrial workflows.

TrackScan GO focuses on portability and ease of use. Its compact 3D scanner and tracker fit into a single carrying case, while wireless scanning gives operators greater freedom to move around a part. Three measurement setups allow the system to adapt to different part sizes and working conditions. Customers can use the tracker and 3D scanner together as a tracking-based scanning system or independently as handheld 3D scanners.

For teams moving between inspection locations, these features make transport and deployment more manageable. A color camera and AR overlay provide a more intuitive view of the part, while guided operation helps users navigate the measurement process.

TrackScan Sharp-Z addresses the demands of larger components and more complex measurement environments. It combines a tracking distance of up to 12 meters with a tracker mounted on a dynamic rotary platform that automatically follows the 3D scanner. This helps reduce the need to reposition the tracker as operators move around large parts.

Wireless scanning, dual-battery power and displays on both the 3D scanner and tracker further support on-site operation. For applications in heavy industry, manufacturing and automated inspection of large components, the system is designed to make wider measurement coverage more practical.

02 From a Beam of Light to a World of Possibilities

In his opening address, Jeff Wang looked back on SCANOLOGY’s 11-year journey through two early engineering systems. His talk, “From a Beam of Light to a World of Possibilities,” connected the company’s technical development with the customers and partners who helped shape it.

The first was Dream No. 1, an engineering prototype developed over 3 years, beginning in 2012. Weighing 2.5 kilograms, it used a single laser line and operated at up to 20 frames per second. Although modest by today’s standards, it captured SCANOLOGY’s first point cloud, turning an early engineering idea into a working system.

The second was the company’s first tracking-based 3D scanning system that required no markers on the part, introduced in 2017. The early system still had room for improvement, but its first customer continued working with SCANOLOGY as the team refined the product. Feedback informed successive updates, and that customer became a long-term partner. Reflecting on the collaboration, the customer said, “Almost every time you came back, you brought changes and improvements. We have great confidence in your future.”

Wang described the company’s growth from a 7-person team to more than 600 employees, serving customers in over 70 countries and regions. He credited that progress to respect for technology, commitment to customers and shared success with partners. The new headquarters will support further research and product development, as well as closer exchange with global partners.

The technical and industry program also brought perspectives from across the wider industry. Guest speakers discussed automated measurement, portable coordinate measuring machines, industry applications and global markets. Experts from aerospace, motorsport, heavy equipment, cultural heritage digitization and precision instrumentation shared experience from their own fields.

These exchanges connected technical development with market needs and practical applications, broadening the discussion beyond the new products to the wider role of 3D digitization.

 

03 Exploring the New Headquarters Together

For visiting global partners, the event offered a first opportunity to explore SCANOLOGY’s new headquarters campus. The visit gave familiar products and the company’s development story a new setting, while creating space for direct conversations with the people behind the technology.

In the 3D digitization showroom, exhibits traced the progression from early products to today’s broader portfolio. Partners explored how SCANOLOGY’s work has developed from 3D scanning into a wider range of 3D vision and digitization applications.

In the product experience area, technical demonstrations became hands-on discussions. Partners tried TrackScan GO, TrackScan Sharp-Z and other systems, then spoke with technical specialists about applications and requirements in their own markets. Questions arose both from operating the equipment and from real customer projects, giving the product features a practical context.

Dedicated partner training covered product applications, technical support and project delivery. SCANOLOGY’s team worked with partners from different regions to deepen product understanding and discuss how to translate system capabilities into local customer projects.

For customers worldwide, that connection between product knowledge and local support matters throughout adoption and use. The showroom tours, product sessions and training strengthened the collaboration that helps partners understand customer needs and support practical deployment.
 

04 Continuing the Collaboration

Over three days, partners shared technical knowledge, exchanged application experience and brought firsthand requirements from their markets to Hangzhou. The new headquarters marks another stage in SCANOLOGY’s development, with the same continuing focus on improving technology through customer feedback and helping global partners put 3D measurement to work.
