SCANOLOGY Unveils TrackScan Sharp-Z and TrackScan GO, Extending Optical Tracking 3D Measurement to Both Ends of the Spectrum

04 Sep, 2026

Subheadline: The two new optical tracking 3D measurement systems push single-station tracking distance to an industry-leading 12 meters — and shrink a full tracking setup into one carry-on-sized case.

HANGZHOU, China, September 2, 2026 — SCANOLOGY, a leading provider of high-precision 3D measurement solutions, today announced two new optical tracking 3D measurement systems: TrackScan Sharp-Z, the Zenith model of the TrackScan Sharp series that raises tracking distance, resolution, and measurement rate to new industry heights; and TrackScan GO, a portable 3D scanning system that makes marker-free, metrology-grade measurement dramatically lighter, simpler, and more accessible than ever before.

Both systems are built on SCANOLOGY's smart wireless architecture. With edge computing units integrated into both the tracker and the scanner, raw camera images are processed on the device and transmitted as refined measurement data — cutting bandwidth demands by orders of magnitude and enabling fully wireless scanning with higher-resolution cameras and faster frame rates.

TrackScan Sharp-Z: The Zenith of Optical Tracking 3D

SCANOLOGY's product models have long carried three familiar suffixes — Classic, Enhanced, and Superior. TrackScan Sharp-Z introduces a fourth: Z for Zenith, signaling performance pushed straight to the top. Purpose-built for high-end manufacturing, heavy industry, and large-scale automated inspection, the flagship system is defined by three capabilities: it scans farther, covers wider, and measures faster.

Go further — 12 m tracking distance.

Equipped with 50-megapixel industrial cameras — combined with an extended depth of field and the dynamic adaptive LED algorithm (DLA) — TrackScan Sharp-Z achieves a breakthrough maximum tracking distance of 12 meters and a single-station measurement volume of 600 m³. Aircraft structures, wind-power and hydropower components, commercial vehicles, and other extra-large workpieces can be measured in a single station, with far fewer repositioning cycles.

Go wider — Fully Self Tracking (FST). With the industry-first FST technology, the tracker sits on a motorized rotary platform and automatically follows the scanner in real time, continuously maintaining the optimal tracking field of view. FST extends the maximum measurement volume to 3,600 m³ across a 360° range — and because its algorithm keeps the scanner positioned in the sharpest region of the camera's field of view, it improves positioning accuracy while it works. Large-scene scanning no longer means constantly moving the tracker.

Go beyond — peak performance across the board. TrackScan Sharp-Z pairs its quad-cross blue laser technology — 162 laser lines in total — with a scanning frame rate of up to 200 FPS and a measurement rate of up to 10,000,000 measurements per second. Four dedicated scanning modes — Ultra-Fast Scanning, Hyperfine Scanning, Deep-Hole Scanning, and Extended-Depth Scanning — handle everything from standard workpieces and precision surfaces to recessed cavities and extra-large components. Accuracy reaches up to 0.025 mm, with volumetric accuracy of 0.039 mm and resolution up to 0.020 mm.

Operating a system this far-reaching stays remarkably simple. A 7-inch display on the front of the tracker and a built-in display on the scanner keep device status, calibration guidance, and probing information in view at all times. Both the tracker and the scanner feature dual-bay, hot-swappable batteries, so scanning continues uninterrupted through battery changes for all-day operation — entirely cable-free.

Performance of TrackScan Sharp-Z is evaluated in accordance with JJF 1951, VDI/VDE 2634 Part 3, and ISO 10360-13 at SCANOLOGY's ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration laboratory, with accuracy controlled across four key metrics and safeguarded by a rigid, integrally molded carbon-fiber icosahedral frame.

TrackScan GO: One Scanner. Three Modes. Tracking 3D Made Easy.

For years, two barriers have kept many users on the handheld side of 3D scanning: portability and budget. TrackScan GO was engineered to erase that line. Available in two models — TrackScan GO-C and TrackScan GO-E — the system delivers marker-free, industrial-grade tracking measurement in a package light enough to carry anywhere.

Lightweight and portable, One Case to Go. The scanner weighs just 860 g and the tracker 1,580 g — with the entire system, accessories included, fitting into a single suitcase-sized case (660 × 499 × 329 mm). No routers, no relay boxes, no trolley. With fully wireless scanning over Wi-Fi 6 and an optional tablet-based inspection solution, operators can leave the laptop behind and bring tracking-based 3D measurement to the most space-constrained sites.

Scan out of the box, easy to learn and use. TrackScan GO wakes up automatically when taken out of its case, connects on its own, and is ready to scan at the press of a button — and returns to sleep when packed away. Powered by SCANOLOGY's proprietary industrial measurement software DefinSight, intelligent guidance condenses a traditional twelve-step inspection workflow into as few as four steps: operators simply scan a QR code to load a preconfigured routine covering everything from scanning setup to deviation color maps and standardized reports. New users get productive without lengthy training.

Three modes in one, no compromises. The tracker and scanner work together or independently, switching flexibly between three configurations: tracker-plus-scanner for marker-free scanning of typical workpieces; the tracker alone as a long-range, large-area scanner for large parts; and the scanner alone as a lightweight handheld unit that reaches into internal cavities and confined spaces. One system replaces several devices — with a measurement rate of up to 6,500,000 measurements per second, 76 laser lines across four scanning modes, and accuracy up to 0.020 mm.

A color camera brings inspection to life. TrackScan GO integrates a color camera that enables quick CAD-to-part alignment, real-time deviation color mapping during scanning, and AR overlay that projects live 3D data onto the physical scene. Surface defects such as scratches and dents can be recorded directly onto the 3D model — making defects visible, recordable, and traceable.

Like every SCANOLOGY industrial system, TrackScan GO's performance is evaluated in accordance with JJF 1951, VDI/VDE 2634 Part 3, and ISO 10360-13 at SCANOLOGY's ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration laboratory, with a redesigned omnidirectional target layout, an integrally molded carbon-fiber frame, and self-verifying calibration reminders keeping accuracy stable and traceable in daily use.

Two Systems, One Direction

"Every arrival is a new departure," said Jeff Wang, CEO of SCANOLOGY. "TrackScan Sharp-Z takes optical tracking measurement to its performance zenith, while TrackScan GO breaks the boundary between handheld and tracking 3D scanners. Both were shaped directly by user feedback — and both carry the same smart wireless technology that defines where this industry is heading."
